      What part will you play?

      The Entry-Level Project Support Engineer (PSA) is an integral team member in our Media & Entertainment (M&E) projects. The PSA will assist with tasks from initial sales concept through design development, from creating construction drawings to offering implementation support. As a valuable technical resource, the PSA contributes to the execution of client system requirements. Reporting to a Director of Engineering, project assignments for the PSA are determined by Technical Operations Leadership, reflecting the demands across the enterprise. The PSA will often be supervised, receive specific task assignments, and benefit from active mentoring by Senior Design Engineers, Design Engineers, or Project Managers.

      What will you be doing?

      • Collaborate on projects, contributing to the development of budgets and timelines.
      • Offer technical support to enhance tasks performed by others, contributing to the planning of audio, video, and control solutions.
      • Contribute to the creation of Bill of Materials (BOM) and supporting documentation.
      • Assist in the production of functional system descriptions, comprehensive block wiring diagrams, rack elevations, custom plates, and cabling assemblies.
      • Explore and identify potential technology options for projects.
      • Provide technical support for the creation and subsequent reconciliation of the complete construction drawing package, supporting installation documentation.
      • Assist with testing, commissioning, and configuring subsystems during project deployment.
      • Support the build phase of projects.
      • Participate in the completion of as-built drawings for service hand-over.

      Professional Development:

      • Develop expertise in the industry through ongoing review of trade publications, participation in industry trade shows, seminars, and educational forums.
      • Participate in specific assigned PSA training on relevant technical topics.

      Complexity:

      The Entry-Level Project Support Engineer works closely with the Design Engineer and Field
      Engineers to implement the client requirements.

      Decision-Making Authority:

      The PSA will learn to evaluate products and make detailed equipment decisions under the guidance of supervisors. As a technical resource, the PSA will clarify tasks assigned by their immediate supervisor to ensure clear understanding.

      Physical Working Environment:

      Physical Demands:

      Work location is variable based on different stages of a project. A typical experience consists of some time in the office with the remainder in construction site conditions. The PSE is responsible for adhering to safety regulations in place by the General Contractor (GC) while on job sites. Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is usually required on job sites. The PSE will typically spend at least 50% of their time on their feet and is expected to navigate around the construction site.
      Regular use of keyboards and testing equipment is required.

      Travel:

      Occasional travel by car and occasional airplane trips are required. Employee must possess a valid driver’s license in their state of residence. Employee will be required to use their own vehicle and will be reimbursed for mileage at the current corporate rate. Local travel to job sites (within a 2 hour driving distance each way) will make up 90% usually but remote travel can be up to 30% of the job at times.

      What do we require from you?

      Education/Certifications:

      • High school diploma or GED required
      • Associate/Bachelor degree required and/or equivalent experience.

      Required/Desired Knowledge, Experience and Skills:

      • Entry Level
      • Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office 365 desired.
      • Demonstrated knowledge of broadcast technology, equipment, facilities, and production systems used in the Media and Entertainment industry. Formats include high-definition, UHD and HDR video systems deployed using analog, SDI and SMPTE 2110 IP transport protocols desired.
      • Understanding of TCP/IP routing, ACL’s, QoS, VLAN’s and Wireless Access Points desired.
      • Exceptional time management skills.
      • Excellent communication skills.
      • Ability to analyze complex issues and communicate concise succinct messages.
